Tai Chi Around The World

"I think we had the best time and the best place in the whole world," Olive.

We did 3 sets at Swy-a-Lana Lagoon at 7:00 a.m. to mark the 40th Anniversary of the Taoist Tai Chi Society of Canada. We were joined by Tai Chiers from Taoist Tai Chi clubs all around the world, at exactly the same time.

It was an exquisitely beautiful summer morning.

I've closed off my birthday page. But I keep thinking of stuff to ramble about.

Apophenia is seeing patterns that aren't there.

Synchronicity is a Carl Jung concept of stuff in the outside world sending you a message.

'Stars aligning' is a concept I like. Karen my job counsellor used this expression.

I felt the stars had aligned when I pushed the garage door opener to start my trip to Vancouver and Colin James singing 'Into the Mystic' came on the radio. Many good lyrics in this song including 'I'm coming home'. Sniff.

See there was a bit of sun on Saturday morning - it was exquisite soft light actually. This is at the Fish and Chip place in the harbour. Nice walk with my daughter Meghan. Then home for hashbrowns and eggs and coffee.

Alpha Ya Ya Diallo was wonderful warm uplifting music from start to finish. There was dancing! Along with the African musicians and dancer there was our own Jesse Zubot (electric violin). Totally great stuff. We said goodbye to Ginna, the Women's Centre coordinator. A lovely bright young woman who had us almost organized. Sigh!

Today's Saturday picture. A grey mild day. I walked around Buttertubs taking many shots of the bullrushes - but none made the cut. The marsh sometimes has this amazing peuter grey smooth shininess to it and did today. Lovely place. Today's Saturday Picture is a rhodo on my deck though. Also quite lovely..... I love Saturday, especially one off like today. Bought gumboots to keep my feet dry when watering the plants at Buckerfield's Garden Centre. Now I'm cooking eggplant red pepper lasagna and then going to hear Alpha Ya Ya Diallo at the Port Theatre. Better get the lead out!

Saturday Morning Pictures. I have a picture from every Saturday Morning since September 30, 2006.

The picture above is the very first one that I chose. It's at Buttertubs Marsh in Nanaimo. It's called September 30, 2006 and is still a favourite. Actually it was published in a local magazine.

The one below is from yesterday. It is of the Buckerfield's Garden Centre where I am working. It's called March 20, 2010. A lovely bunch of shrubs and fruit trees on the first day of Spring!

A simple concept. Take several pictures wherever I am on Saturday (before noon!) and choose the one that is the best or the one that represents the uniqueness of that particular Saturday. A good example of that is last Saturday's picture of two guys in the orchestra of the Live at the Met showing of Carmen. That's unlikely to happen again soon!

I'll keep you posted on this project/journal/art thing. Enjoy.
